Meanwhile, films like The Dark Knight and Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man were lauded for their complex and compelling villains. In The Dark Knight’s case, it was arguably at the expense of the hero’s own character development, but the fact that the MCU lacks any villains on par with Heath Ledger’s Joker or Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin (or Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock) is often considered to be a major weakness in Marvel’s slate....

The Federal Aviation Administration’s investigation into whether airline passengers can be allowed to use tablets, eBook readers and laptops throughout a flight is apparently looking hopeful, as The New York Times cited an insider saying approval would likely be granted this year. This will doubtless come as a relief to Alec Baldwin, who was once kicked off an AA flight for refusing to switch off his iPad. The iPad was approved for flight-deck use in 2011, with cabin crew also permitted to use them throughout a flight for service information, so it’s looking like a done deal (just one done at the speed of the bureaucratic machine)....

Ant-Man and the Wasp actress Evangeline Lilly recently described her experience of discomfort acting in a scene on Lost. Lilly portrayed the character of Kate Austen on the mysterious TV series - a fugitive who, like the rest of the survivors of Oceanic 815, had her backstory and motivations revealed through numerous flashbacks. Eve Online Mac support has finally landed, thanks to a new native client for macOS. You could previously run the game under Wine, though that started becoming problematic with Big Sur, but you’ll now be able to ditch the emulators … Engadget reports that the Mac app originally promised for “early 2021” is now available. The installer only lists Intel Mac requirements, but Engadget says that it runs on M1 Macs too....

Now entering the last quarter of the year, 2019 has already seen some of its biggest releases, but thankfully, there are still many more to come, and October has a bunch of exciting movies to check out. Although this month is usually reserved for horror movies, this year it’s packed with films for all tastes, from comic book villains, to animated adaptations, to some highly anticipated “reboots” and the continuation of a very successful TV series....
