Facebook’s “awesome launch” has come and gone, they integrated with Skype but left millions of iPad fans disappointed with the never-explained absence of iPad functionality. And now, slim hopes have been dashed further by Facebook engineer Jeff Verkoeyen who pulled a Joe Hewitt....

Confirmed at SDCC 2019 to be the second film on Marvel’s Phase 4 slate, Eternals will be released in November 2020. Directed by Chloe Zhao, the upcoming movie will tell the story of the immortal Eternals, who were created by the Celestials and sent to Earth to battle the Deviants....

Rick and Morty season 4, episode 2 continues to show’s tradition of casting well-known actors in guest roles. “The Old Man and the Seat” sends Rick on a vendetta against someone who dared to use his secret pooping spot, while Morty and Jerry try to take down a dating app developed by Rick’s alien intern. The episode’s special guest stars include Taika Waititi, Kathleen Turner, Sam Neill, and Jeffrey Wright....

In the same week YouTube announced that it will be working with non-profit organizations to help identify and remove extremist videos from its platform, Facebook is expanding a similar initiative … The company said that it will be bringing to the UK a two-pronged strategy first used in France and Germany. The primary approach is to train non-governmental organizations to identify videos which contravene the company’s policy forbidding videos that promote hate, extremism or terrorism....

The EU legislation to mandate a common smartphone charger is now a done deal. After it looked like it would pass back in June, the Council of Ministers ratified the vote in October. Today the law has been officially signed and published with a December 2024 deadline for all new smartphones sold in Europe to use USB-C. Today, at its Evernote Trunk Conference in San Francisco, Evernote announced a partnership with expensive high-quality notebook maker Moleskine. The surprising partnership yielded a new offering called “Evernote Smart Notebook”. Since many people still take notes with pen and paper, it is a partnership that makes sense.
