After more than a month since the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus screen sizes were announced, Facebook has released an updated version of its iPhone app to take advantage of the bigger screens. The new app features a smaller navigation bar and shows more content on the screen. Facebook had previously updated its Messenger app for the new iPhones, although its alternative Facebook Paper app is still awaiting an update....

The Epic Games lawsuit continues in the form of written testimony ahead of the trial next month. Epic has presented expert arguments from a number of academics from prestigious colleges as it makes its antitrust case against Apple. In particular, the experts took issue with Apple’s claim that the primary role of the App Store was to protect users. The academics make the case that it’s possible to have a monopoly on access to iOS apps despite the existence of a competing smartphone platform; that Apple gives its own apps an unfair advantage; that security of apps is just a pretext for blocking competing app stores; that Apple’s cut reduces app sales; and more…...

Apple’s ad tracking transparency (ATT) feature is set to officially launch in “early spring.” And over the previous months, Facebook has been the biggest critic of the impending changes. Ahead of the new iOS privacy requirement, EU antitrust chief Margrethe Vestager has said it does look to line up with some of the proposed legislation in Europe but also gave a warning for Apple to play fair. Reported by Reuters, Vestager said for now she hasn’t gotten any official complaints about Apple’s upcoming ad tracking transparency feature....

Primary iPhone assembler Foxconn says that it has begun work on expansion plans for plants outside of China as it seeks to recover from production lost to the coronavirus outbreak. The company is also ‘cautiously’ resuming production in China… It does, however, warn that revenues will be hit in the meantime, reports Reuters. Reuters recently claimed that Foxconn was aiming to be at 50% of normal production levels in China by the end of February, but the company subsequently denied this....

After a long period of silence, Escape Plan 2: Hades is set to open in UK cinemas this summer. The original Escape Plan featured the long-awaited pairing of former action movie rivals Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The two had briefly appeared together in The Expendables franchise, but Escape Plan marked their first feature-length collaboration. I’ve been using iCloud Photos since the day it was released, and I love the service and have no plans of leaving it any time soon. I subscribed to Apple One Premier when the Apple One bundles were released, so I am all in on Apple’s services for the foreseeable future. Apple’s online store last month mysteriously went offline for hours in what had been a slight tweak which saw a limited roll out of Facebook and Twitter sharing on the Mac Pro page and iPod classic pages. Today, the company rolled out the social sharing buttons for every product sold on the online store, including printers, accessories, speakers and other third-party products. It’s easy, just browse the store for a product you would like to share, click the right side of either the Select button or the big green Add To Cart button and then choose Twitter or Facebook to share....
