As it continues to try to grow its Snapchat competitor, Facebook today announced that it is launching support for Stories in Groups and Events. With this new feature, members of a specific Facebook Group or Event will be able to contribute to a Story that’s visible to the rest of the members… As reported by TechCrunch, this feature comes as Facebook looks to draw more users to its Stories platforms. While Instagram’s Stories feature is doing quite well, Facebook’s has struggled to attract users....

Since Fortnite was banned from the App Store in August this year, Epic Games has been promoting a boycott of Apple products through special tournaments and campaigns mocking the company. This week, Epic sent a kit to some influencers with a “Free Fortnite” jacket and a Galaxy Tab S7, reinforcing the company’s criticism to Apple. The gift comes in a white box that mimics Apple’s product boxes. Inside there’s a custom jacket with the “Free Fortnite” slogan and a logo that somehow resembles the Apple logo with its design and even the colored stripes....

Battlestate Games, the Russian developer of online FPS Escape from Tarkov, is having negative YouTube videos taken down en masse, and it’s turned the Escape from Tarkov community against it in the process. The situation arose when Croatian YouTuber and streamer Eroktic had dozens of his videos removed from YouTube following copyright strikes issued by Battlestate. These videos were removed automatically by YouTube despite the fact that none of them violate copyright law, and Battlestate’s response to the online backlash it has received only highlights the absurdity of its claims....

iPhone assembler Foxconn has bought an EV factory in Ohio in a $230M deal. The purchase was made from electric vehicle startup Lordstown Motors. While a key Apple supplier buying an EV plant in the US will inevitably create speculation about potential Apple Car production, this appears unlikely … The Verge reports that the deal will see the two companies work together to manufacture electric pickups at the plant. Foxconn is also injecting cash into the struggling startup by buying $50M worth of Lordstown Motors shares....

ILMxLAB, Lucasfilm’s immersive entertainment studio, has finally shared details on Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series, a story set within official Star Wars canon between the first two trilogies that can only be experienced in virtual reality. Evangeline Lilly has officially revealed her new Wasp costume for the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp. The reveal serves in part to commemorate the memory of the late comic book icon (and frequent Stan Lee collaborator) Jack Kirby, on what would have been his 100th birthday. Lilly has teased Hope getting her own Wasp costume for the second Ant-Man film before, following the first Ant-Man’s mid-credits scene reveal of the shrinking supersuit that Hope’s mother, Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), wore back when she was The Wasp, prior to her being trapped in the Quantum Realm....
