Over the weekend, Facebook announced that it will be bringing a refreshed privacy center to make it easier for users to find and customize settings. The post also goes over some tips for keeping your data safe along with the company’s privacy principles which tout accountability and constant improvement.

This month, Facebook has shared the first two major changes coming to the social media service. First, the company announced a major overhaul coming to its News Feed to create more “meaningful interaction” and less so-called “passive content.” The second major update was the announcement that Facebook will turn to its users to rank the trustworthiness of news sources.

As for the privacy update, Facebook shared the news yesterday in a post in honor of Data Privacy Day. Giving You More Control of Your Privacy on Facebook includes the announcement about the upcoming changes to the privacy center, some tips on managing your data on Facebook, and the company’s privacy principles.

For tips on helping users take control of their data, the post encouraged use of the Privacy Checkup tool. Facebook also has a series of new educational videos on the topic.

As for the new privacy center, Facebook didn’t share many details outside of it arriving this year and that it will be gathering feedback from a variety of sources.
