The Arrowverse’s Crisis on Infinite Earths event came with a surprise DCEU cameo of Ezra Miller’s Flash who is sharing his great time with The Flash’s Grant Gustin in behind the scenes images. The 5-hour crossover event became one of the biggest events in the superhero genre as The CW’s DC TV franchise honored DC’s live-action history. The crossover was loaded with several guest stars who brought their respective versions of iconic DC characters back to life. From Smallville’s Tom Welling, Superman Returns’ Brandon Routh, to John Wesley Shipp’s version of The Flash from his series on CBS, it was a major celebration of the DC Universe.

The fourth hour of Crisis came with a big surprise as the DCEU officially crossed over with the DC TV universe. After years of hearing that the two realms wouldn’t cross paths, Miller appeared on screen together with Gustin’s version of the fastest man alive. The cameo was kept so under wraps that even some of Gustin’s fellow Arrowverse stars had no idea the cameo had taken place. For roughly a minute, the two current actors playing the same role got to engage with one another, which became one of the most iconic moments in the crossover.

Now that the secret is out, both Gustin and Miller have been sharing their time together on set through BTS photos. Miller, however, may have shared the most hilarious one to date. The actor, through his band Sons of an Illustrious Father’s Instagram, posted to their stories a comedic and rather romantic image of him and Gustin. With Iris West in both the Arrowverse and DCEU being Barry’s true love, a romance for Flashes of Two Worlds is more a fantasy than anything. The image is, however, a welcomed gift, as it will live online forever through shares and meme usage.

It’s never a negative thing seeing two actors who after working together for the first time being able to have this much fun together. While the cameo was brief, it became historical for DC’s live-action TV shows and films. With Miller’s solo film having been in development for years, his version of the iconic speedster hasn’t been seen since Justice League in 2017. Since the Flashpoint-inspired film isn’t happening until 2022, having Miller in the largest DC multimedia crossover was more than appreciated.

Since the crossover’s conclusion, more details on how his cameo happened have emerged. The crossover never planned to have his Flash in it until Warner Bros. specifically asked the Arrowverse team if it could happen. Through a last-minute addition, the DC cinematic world and the TV universe officially became part of the same live-action canon. Whether or not Gustin and Miller will ever share the screen together again remains to be seen, but after this cameo appearance and seeing how much Miller and Gustin enjoyed each other’s company, clearly anything is possible within the Arrowverse.
