You may be reading this but have not experienced this problem with your doorbell, go nowhere, this read is also for you. Who knows, you may need this knowledge soon.

I would highlight some quick actions you can take to rectify this issue:

Restart or reboot your Eufy doorbell and Wi-Fi connectionReconfigure the factory setting of your doorbell from scratchMinimize the signal obstruction between the doorbell and the Wi-FiMake sure your app is updated to its latest versionSwitch Wi-Fi Bands

Do not worry, I will explain in-depth how to do all of these in subsequent paragraphs.

Restart or reboot your Eufy doorbell and Wi-Fi connection

I can think of nothing more suitable than a short and effective power nap when it feels like you are being stretched beyond your limits. I guess that’s the principle behind powering off our mobile devices or laptop when it is not responding as expected.

Now let’s apply that here too: Reboot your Eufy doorbell.

Since there are two types; the battery-powered eufy doorbell and the wired doorbell. To reboot the battery-powered device, press the SYNC button(it is at the rear end of the device) for about 10 seconds and release. And for the wired device, switch off the supply power and leave it that way for about 40 seconds before switching it back on.

Also, you will need to reboot the Wi-Fi connection by switching off the main router for some seconds and switching it back on again.

That should do the trick just fine.

However, if the audio delay is still there, move to plan B:

Reconfigure the factory setting of your doorbell from scratch

This is quite easy to do. Panic is not my friend, just follow the steps below (time to get a little bit techier – buckle up):

For a wired Eufy doorbell, use the detaching pin that came with the package (or a straightened pin) and press the reset hole at the back of the doorbell. If you have already mounted it on a door frame or wall, detach it gently before pressing the reset button. For the battery-powered eufy doorbell, you have done this already, the button for SYNC is the same for reset.

Proceed to Plan C if this didn’t resolve the audio delay.

Minimize the signal obstruction between the doorbell and the Wi-Fi

There must be no signal obstruction between the Wi-Fi and the smart doorbell. Things that can cause hindrance to this signal can be furniture, walls, other electromagnetic waves interfering with Wi-Fi, etc.

The best Ways To Avoid This Problem are:

Place your router above as much physical obstruction as possibleIf your house has thick walls, consider buying a good mesh Wi-Fi router designed for thick wallsIf you have noticed over time that you are not getting a sufficient Wi-Fi signal, you may want to buy a Wi-Fi extender (note, the key is to put it high above every possible hindrance).

Make sure your app is updated to its latest version

Regularly update your app to the latest version from the manufacturer. New versions most times have improved interface, better defense system against possible bugs, and generally, ensure the smooth running of the system.

You can get the latest versions available on the company’s website, App plays, or Google store.

Still having the delay, try this last one before calling for help.

Switch Wi-Fi Bands

This is the last trick in our little fix-it-yourself adventure. You can easily change your Wi-Fi band by going to the settings section of the app, clicking Wi-Fi, then selecting “forget this network”. Return to the Wi-Fi Bands and change the band.

Network bands to choose from depending on your need

Use 2. 4 GHz if you want your Wi-Fi signal to have a better and longer range.   5GHz band should be used if you require a faster speed but are willing to give up range. By removing network noise and interference, this band can improve network performance.

Contact Service Support

If after trying all the aforementioned tips and the audio delay is still present, it is time to contact the company for assistance. On eufy official website, you have the option of contacting any customer service close to your area.

Conclusion

There is no perfect device, knowing how to fix little problems that may arise is the key to getting the best from any product. Security is very important in this day and age, and getting a device that can help combat insecurity in your vicinity is worth taking a chance on.

Even if you cannot fix the problem at the end of the day, you can at least rest assured that the customer service support is ever ready to provide assistance and replacement in some cases.

Question: How far off from the router can the wired doorbell be placed?
